Financial Wellbeing

Competitive Pay

We offer competitive pay and regularly re-evaluate each year. In addition, we offer most Team Members the ability to access a portion of their earned wages early, as often as daily.

Retirement - 401 (k)

Academy Sports + Outdoors provides a 401(k) plan that offers significant tax benefits while helping Team Members plan for their future. For every dollar you contribute, Academy will match it with a dollar, up to 6% of your eligible compensation. This contribution from Academy serves as an additional benefit to help you build your retirement savings.

Company Stock

Team Members can purchase Academy common stock through an Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) at a 15% discount directly and conveniently through payroll deductions.

Physical Wellbeing

Flu Shots

All Team Members are eligible to receive annual flu shots at no cost to them.

Disability

Disability coverage through SunLife is available to all Full-Time Team Members. Both short-term and long-term disability options may be available for enrollment.

Onsite Gym

We prioritize the well-being and overall health of our Team Members. Academy has an exceptional onsite gym facility available for enrollment to our Corporate and Distribution Center (DC) Team Members based in Katy. With our onsite gym, you can conveniently fit in a workout before, during, or after work, eliminating the need for a separate gym membership and saving you valuable time.

Medical

Academy offers a PPO plan and 2 High Deductible plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you live in the Houston and surrounding areas, Kelsey Seybold is an available option to you.HHealth

Dental

Delta Dental PPO includes coverage for dental needs such as preventative, basic and major care, including orthodontia for dependent children under age 19.

Vision

Enhanced vision plan by VSP includes coverage for complete eye and contact lens exams. There is also an allowance for frames and lenses.

Basic Life and AD&D

Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage is provided at no cost to the Team Member. Eligible dependents are enrolled at no additional cost if they are enrolled in the medical plan.

Pharmacy

OptumRX is utilized for all of your pharmacy needs, including a convenient ship to home option for Team Members that want to avoid the need to go to local pharmacies.

Telemedicine

Doctor on Demand gives you access to board-certified physicians from the convenience of your mobile device or computer.

Everyone deserves some time off! Academy provides time off in increments that vary based on role, years of service with company, and other factors. Details will be provided specific to the role you are interested in.

Academy's recognized paid holidays are either awarded on specific days or given as “flex holidays” so you can choose when to use. This is specific to the division of Academy for which you are working in.

Team Member Assistance

There when you need it most

The Academy Team Member Relief program provides financial assistance if you experience damage to your home or vehicle due to inclement weather or a fire. Since 2019, Academy has paid over $2 million to our team members in need.
